This apartment building will be erected in Strovolos, Nicosia and is composed of the semi basement and the ground floor, which will be utilized as parking and storage space, and five upper stories, which accommodate residential flats. The structure will be fabricated with reinforced concrete. The architectural constraint of flat ceilings on the third and fourth floor, made mandatory the implementation of shallow and inverted beams. Furthermore, a composite solution was derived, where auxiliary wide flange structural beams were concealed in the tapered section cantilevers, resulting in the increase of the cantilevers’ stiffness and the minimization of their vertical deflections.
