This multipurpose hall located in Athienou, Larnaca, is used for ceremonies and celebrations, organized either by the local public schools or by the municipality. Furthermore, it hosts sport events and it consists the home court of the local basketball, volleyball and handball teams. The building’s roof is supported on 30 m long Pratt plane steel trusses, connected on the concrete perimeter columns. Reinforced concrete was also used for the fabrication of the spectators’ bleachers. The space underneath the bleachers remains utilitarian, since it comprises the locker rooms, the administration and the referees’ offices, the bathrooms and the toilets.
