Mansion of the Mental Sorority of the Greeks of Cyprus
Client: Mental Sorority of the Greeks of Cyprus
Architect: Nasso Chrysochou Architects
This architectural heritage building, located in Engomi, Nicosia, had evident deterioration signs due to the weathering actions and the aging effects. The partially adobe and partially limestone masonry structure, was rehabilitated and their bearing capacity was strengthened with the insertion of timber tie elements. The foundation was upgraded via fabrication of foundation stripes, which were considered requisite to minimize the differential settlements of the foundation soil. All the irreparable structural and non-structural elements were replaced with respect to the traditional morphology of the building.
