This reinforced concrete apartment building is situated within the city of Nicosia. The building consists of the basement, which is utilized as parking space, the ground floor with parking and storage spaces, five upper stories, which accommodate residential flats and the roof which is partially used as roof garden. A noteworthy effort was made for the reduction of the torsional response of the structure, which was resulting from its significant irregularities. Moreover, the proper design and particularly the control of vertical deflections of the cantilevers, with length up to 3.20 m, was considered challenging. A distinct structural solution was derived, where auxiliary wide flange structural beams were concealed in the reinforced concrete, tapered section cantilevers.
